How it works
Profhilo® is a highly-purified, hyaluronic acid-based treatment. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in your skin and can attract up to 1000 times its weight in water. This has made it a popular ingredient in topical skin care products but applying it to the skin's surface can have the reverse effect of drawing moisture out of your skin. Injecting HA into the deeper dermal layers of the skin provides deeper hydration and stimulates collagen and elastin production.
Profhilo is a simple injection into five key points on each side of the face - just next to the ears, the nasolabial fold (laughter lines around the mouth), chin, under the eyes, and at the top of the cheeks.
Benefits
It works in a very smooth and even fashion. Unlike normal dermal fillers which hold their shape beneath the skin, Profhilo is far more fluid, spreading beneath the skin’s surface for an even distribution of product and a more natural look. There is no sudden change, but long-term improvement for better skin, day after day leaving you with smoother, plumper, younger-looking skin. Profhilo starts to put back in what we have naturally started to lose in our mid to late 20s.
We Recommend
For maximum effect, we administer our Profhilo treatment in two sessions, two weeks apart. How often you repeat the treatment depends on the initial condition of your skin and how much collagen and elastin have been lost. The average person would benefit from treatment every 12 months whilst skin requiring a bit more TLC might repeat every 6 months.
It is important to let your doctor know of any preexisting conditions and any medication you are currently taking, for example, aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, and fish oil supplements which can increase the likelihood of bruising. If you are taking any prescribed medication, do not stop taking it without consulting your GP.

If you are setting skin goals for a particular event, for example, a wedding, we would advise booking your treatment for at least a month in advance to give the products time to start working. Because our treatments are aimed at long-term skin health, the more time you allow for treatment cycles beforehand, the better.

With any injectable, there is potential for minor bruising, redness, and minimal swelling but otherwise, there is no down-time required following the treatment. If you have an event coming up, we would advise booking your treatment 2 weeks prior to ensure any potential bruising has healed.
For all injectable treatments, you should keep hydrated and avoid touching the area or applying makeup to the treated area until the next day. You should also avoid alcohol for 24hours after treatment to reduce the risk of bruising.
