How it works
Anti-wrinkle injections, more commonly known as Botox®, can help to relax targeted muscles in the face. Botox is a protein that causes temporary muscle relaxation by blocking signals passing between the nerve and the muscle. Targeting muscles that cause facial wrinkles, botox treatments can reduce or remove wrinkles, helping to restore a more youthful appearance. As the treatment is very precise, the rest of your face will be unaffected.

There are multiple different brands of Botox and some get better results for different people. In our treatments, we use only the premimum end Botox brands, which delivery high quality consistent results.

For Botox treatments, the face is treated in a number of areas. It is generally best to get multiple areas of botox done for two reasons; 1) if you leave one area with a little bit more movement it can make the treated area look unnatural, 2) the more coverage you get, the more long term prevention you can achieve. Our Glow Doctors will work with you to tailor a treatment plan to your individual needs.
It is important to let your doctor know of any preexisting conditions and any medication you are currently taking, for example, aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, and fish oil supplements which can increase the likelihood of bruising. If you are taking any prescribed medication, do not stop taking it without consulting your GP.
Your skin should be cleansed and clean to ensure our Glow Doctors can make an accurate assessment of your skin’s condition prior to treatment.
If you are setting skin goals for a particular event, for example, a wedding, we would advise booking your treatment for at least a month in advance to give the products time to start working. Because our treatments are aimed at long-term skin health, the more time you allow for treatment cycles beforehand, the better.

With any injectable, there is potential for minor bruising, redness, and minimal swelling but otherwise, there is no down-time required following the treatment. If you have an event coming up, we would advise booking your treatment 2 weeks prior to ensure any potential bruising has healed.
For all injectable treatments, you should keep hydrated and avoid touching the area or applying makeup to the treated area until the next day. You should also avoid alcohol for 24hours after treatment to reduce the risk of bruising.
Following your Botox treatment, avoid lying down for 3hours, no alcohol for 24 hours, no excessive sweating (strenuous workouts, sauna etc.) for 24 hours and avoid facials for 2 weeks.
